Update for Defence Industry: Vic and Tas

The planned Defence Update to Industry scheduled for Melbourne on 20 August has been postponed until after the Federal election.

The update will now be held in October, on a date to be determined after the election.

It is planned that the speakers and the timings will remain unchanged however further advice will be provided post the election.

For those that have already RSVPed, your attendance will be transferred to the new date.

The morning will consist of a series of presentations from a wide range of areas within DMO including procurement and Contracting Branch, Commercial and Industry Programs Division (formerly Industry Division) and Land Systems Division.

Procurement and Contracting Branch:
The Procurement and Contracting Branch (PCB) will deliver a presentation on aspects of contracting and procurement of interest to industry.

PCB assists Defence and DMO manage commercial risk in the capability and procurement life cycle through the provision of procurement policy advice, financial investigation services and a range of other internal procurement and contracting services.

Priority Industry Capability (PIC ) Innovation Program:
A senior representative of the Commercial and Industry Programs Division will present on the recently announced Priority Industry Capability (PIC) Innovation Program.

The program aims to provide more direct and more practical support to Australian defence industry, particularly SMEs, for PIC-related activities.

Land Systems Division:
The Director of the Emerging Projects program will outline processes LSD uses to prepare emerging projects and will provide an update on new and emerging projects within the division.

The event will be of interest to anyone looking to keep abreast of current and future issues and projects to do with defence industry.
